Some great locations for portraits in Central Wisconsin!
Being from Colorado, I have tried to make it a good point to get to know our area a little better. I've checked out the sights, shot the sights and have fallen in love with Central Wisconsin.
Here is a small compilation of a couple local areas and parks that I love shooting at! These are all great places for landscape photography as well as senior portraits and family portraits. The first image that you see above is River Park in Mosinee, Wisconsin. The sun was setting behind me and was reflecting off the clouds over the river. Reminds me of a butterfly!
Here is another shot at River Park in Mosinee with Erica looking out into the water. Great spot! So much to do in this little park.
Another little gem close to the Mosinee/Rothschild area is a great red covered bridge right in Cedar Creek. You can view it as you drive past on Business 51. Below you can see a shot I got of Kess in front of it during the spring melt.
Next is a location that most people know about. Rib Mountain State Park is beaming with color and variety for everyone. From skiing to hiking, weddings to picnics, and Geocaching. This state park has something for everyone... and I love it! Below is a shot of Jasmine's senior portraits on Rib Mountain.
What's next? Well... I love this park. Some call it Oak Island/Isle of the Ferns, I've heard it also be called Duck Island. Seems like personal memories in this park really influence what the locals call it. You can find this in beautiful Downtown Wausau. Here's a shot of it in the spring right off the dock.
Below is the beautiful Rylee posing for her senior portraits right here in Oak Island on one of the many bridges they have.
Another other gem that is also located in Downtown Wausau is Barker Island. From here, you can view the stunning Dudley Tower off the bridge leading into this little park (below).
If you turn around in this exact spot on the bridge, you can get this view (below). Once you cross the bridge, there is a great area for any type of photography, walking, fishing, boating etc . Great place to kick back and relax!
Last but not least, is Iverson Park in Steven's Point. I'll admit, I just discovered this park during a senior session and all I can say is WOW. So many things to do here and it is so peaceful! Volleyball, kayaking, swimming, walking, picnics... the list goes on. Love it! Right off Highway 10 in Point. Below is a shot of Kayla during her senior portrait session at this park just recently. Go check it out if you haven't!
Ok, so that's all I have for now. If you know of some other great shooting locations in the area, let me know! I love discovering great places to shoot at while getting to know the area better.
Thanks for the read!
P.S. Call or e-mail me to schedule your portrait sessions! We can hit up a few of these beautiful places or some of your own!
